Change of Scenery

April 3rd 2021 – Sharpley Golf Course

Today brings a change of scenery, we are playing at Sharpley Golf Course, just outside of Seaham, County Durham, what an absolutely beautiful Course! The sun is shining! The fairways are long and open! The shouts of fore from around the course! This is hands down one of the nicest courses I have played in a while, these fairways suit my slice extremely well, they are so open it is impossible to miss them. I found this Course to be a very very long course, par 3s that are knocking on the lengths of par 4s but still so enjoyable to play. The greens are very challenging so your putting game has to be on top form or your going to be coming in with a high score!

The course was very busy today so the usual 3 and a half hours was blown out the window, it did take us about 5 hours to get round because of slow play infront but that didn’t bother us as the sun was shining, the views were unbelievable to look at whilst up on the hills. Having said that, I had the best game since returning to golf, the driving was fun, my short game was impeccable and even my putting stepped up a gear, I came through the end with a 105, I had a relatively low scoring game until the 16th hole where I shanked a drive and left myself with a long way to the green, ended up scoring a saucy 9 on that hole which I thought would ruin my game until I came out with a par and two bogeys on the final holes to keep that score down.

Ending the day off with a lovely cold beer with the lads was the perfect end to a perfect day of golf!
